Langidi – quick breakfast, recipe from grandmother Elenka
Good Saturday morning! Let’s have breakfast 🙂 Today I suggest you to prepare a quick and delicious breakfast. The recipe is from a long time ago, from my grandmother. The same grandmother Elenka from the village of Vardim, Svishtov region, who also made the Walnut buns that I showed you some time ago. Come on, roll up your sleeves and enjoy these LANGIDI. I still dodn’t understand where this name came from and why they were called that way. My personal explanation is that they look like small tongues and come from the word langue (French) or lingua (Latin). This is hardly true, but the important thing in this case is…

Fried toasts with eggs and yoghurt
I suppose you haven’t had breakfast yet … If so, I have an idea for you – FRIED TOASTS WITH EGGS AND YOGHURT – a favourite breakfast since childhood! I don’t remember how my mom made them, I think she only fried them with eggs, but after starting living together with my husband, he told me that the bread slices could also be fried by adding some yogurt. I was quite skeptical, but since then I only prepare them this way because they become soft inside and crispy on the outside. Pancake roll
Here’s a very interesting dessert with ingredients that everyone has in the fridge. Kind of like pancakes, but not quite. Fast and delicious, without the annoying hanging and flipping in front of the pan. Enjoy! 🙂

Crepe cake
Crepe cake with cream, chocolate and strawberries and sparkling strawberry wine – a delicious way to say “I love you” to a loved one on Valentine’s day. You can prepare the crepes, the cream, and the cake itself before the special day and keep it refrigerated until serving.

Street mekitsi (Fried dough for breakfast)
For Bulgarians there is no tastier breakfast than the Mekitsi. And like any other recipe, the Mekitsi recipe has its endless varieties and flavors. Some people love them more curly and soft, others thin and crunchy, while others like it more tough. But there is one special, separate species, and everyone who has lived in a larger city knows what I’m talking about – THE STREET. MEKITSI. Those who entice you from afar with their aroma and even watching their preparation is like a meditation. With greasy hands, the cook takes from a huge bowl of sticky dough and with skillful movements tears off equal pieces of dough, thinning them…

Pan fried cheese mekitsas
Have you had breakfast yet? Probably yes, but I would still like to share with you my cheese pastries (mekitsas), for which I used Radka Dimitrova’s recipe in the Facebook group “I love to cook”. You can cut them into squares, triangles, rhombuses or clovers 🙂 In fact, it almost doesn’t matter, because they will always be so delicious. One tiny warning – I prepared half a dose from the recipe, because there are only two people at home eating such pastry temptations. And it is a sin to throw food. It is also very important to get an assistant, as you will see in the pictures, otherwise the mekitsas…
